Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City, your Asia tour starting point. After finishing the flight, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel for check-in. Then, the rest of the day is yours. You can take a walk around the city to get similar to it. This commercial centre of Vietnam always leaves a strong impression on travellers by its bustling atmosphere and modern services. Like some other cities, Ho Chi Minh city also offers you a chance to witness the combination of the past and the present thanks to the old houses, the temples and high buildings lined on the streets. This day is the real time for you to learn about this dynamic city. You will start the trip by paying a visit to the Central Post Office, one of the most famous French colonial buildings in Vietnam. Based on the design of Gustave Eiffel, the building was built around 1886 -1891 and represented many typical French features. Coming to this place, you will be blown away by the bright colors, high vaulted ceiling, two maps of postal route on the wall, the phone booths and the desks for writing postcard, which are the similar to the colonial period.

Near the Central Post Office is Notre Dame Cathedral, another must-see attraction in city. Apart from the impressive architecture with two identical 58-metre bell towers and the gorgeous decoration, this red brick cathedral attracts many visitors each year by the beautiful garden and the statue of Virgin Mary, which is believed to shed tears in 2005.

War Remnants Museum is worth visiting as well. It is the place where you can find diverse collections of weaponry, military aircraft and war photographs to get better understanding about Vietnam’s history. Then,  a cruise along the Sai Gon river is one in among the best options for helping yourself take a look to the lifestyle of the local before turning back to the hotel.

Leaving the downtown, today, you will move to Cai Be for a floating market tour. Since you will move by car, along the way you can take time to visit Tan An town, where the rice fields becomes a perfect setting for nice photos. The tour in Cai Be, the highlight in the Mekong River will start by making a cruise to floating market. Motor boats are the best option for you to explore this bustling and colorful river market where you can find a lot of boats loading diverse goods from tropical fruits, foods (such as pho, hu tieu,etc), vegetables to clothes and household essential items.

Cruising down the Mekong River to some floating villages, you can have a chance to learn the process of making coconut candy, enjoy fresh fruits in the fruit plantation and listen to the traditional folk music of the local. If possible, you should visit Tan Phong Island, an outstanding example of the rustic beauty in Mekong Delta, to learn cooking some special Vietnamese dishes and enjoy them in the garden.

Besides, a trip by cyclos around the island is a good idea for you and the local come closer for better understanding. After finishing your trip, you will come back to Cai Be by boat, then go back Ho Chi Minh City by car and take rest in hotel.

Say goodbye to Ho Chi Minh City since your tour will continue in Danang. Take time to get everything ready before transferring to airport for a flight to the next destination. When coming to Danang, you will be picked up and transferred to Hoi An, the most delightful town in Vietnam. A walking tour is highly recommended to visit some of historic sites in Hoi An such as Tan Ky house representing both Japanese and Chinese architectural features; Japanese Covered Bridge which was erected in 1590s as a way to reach Chinese quarters; Assembly Hall of Fujian Chinese Congregation, a well-preserved temple which worships a deity from Fujian province, Thien Hau. Then, come back to hotel, enjoy meal and rest yourself.

Go on your tour by moving to Hue, one of the top tourist hot spots in Vietnam. Once known as the Royal Capital of Nguyen Destiny, Hue satisfies not only historic buffs but culture lovers as well. The list of attractions is not too long but really special with Hue Citadel, where you have to spend a lot of time visiting all the four element citadels of the whole complex; Emperors Tombs located along the Perfume River, particularly, tomb of Minh Mang King.

Don’t linger too long in Hue, if you want to visit and learn more about Vietnam. This day, let’s take a flight to transfer to Hanoi because it will just takes you a short period of time to get there and you can save your day to explore Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.

After checking in hotel and taking rest, you will continue your trip in the Old Quarter, the soul of the capital. Unlike other areas in Hanoi, the Old Quarter is a maze of streets with several colonial buildings in which some of them dating back to 13th century. Thus, this oldest area of the town plays an important role in conserving history as well as culture value for Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular. The Old Quarter will not let you down since it can offer you to walk in the busy street or take a cyclo tour to explore all things interesting in the life here. You will be interested in the bustling atmosphere in markets, the delicious food selling in the street vendors  or even getting lost among the friendly people to get new experience.

Don’t forget to watch the water puppet show, one of famous traditional art form in Vietnam, performing in the theater at the end of the day. This activity will end your Hanoi tour in Hanoi in an memorable way, then, you will take an overnight train to move to Sapa, the beautiful town in the north-west  Vietnam.

The train will stop in Lao Cai station in the eighth morning. Then, you will be picked up to the main stop, Sapa. After enjoying the breakfast and take some rest, you will pay a visit to Sapa museum by walking along the mountain roads. This museum is an ideal place for you get an overview about Sapa since it contains a lot of old photo describing history of the region and displays traditional crafts and costume of ethnic minority. Besides, you can also get some rewarding and memorable moments in some nice local markets where you will meet the hill-tribe people in their colorful customs coming to sell and exchange goods. Then, turn back to hotel, have dinner and rest to get ready for the trip in the next day.

Located in a mountainous region, Sapa can be seen as a picturesque town in Vietnam. Thus, it’s worth visiting Ham Rong mountain, where you can get the whole view of Sapa in a easy way. Along the road leading to the mountain have several flower gardens for you to contemplate and take some nice photos. Passing two Heaven Gates, then you can reach the top of Ham Rong mountain, where you can capture the magnificent view of Hoang Lien Son mountain, and the rustic but pretty landscape of Sapa dim in fog. Besides, you can go around Ham Rong mountain to learn about its name and explore its hidden beauty. Then, you will come back to Lao Cai station and transfer back to Hanoi by an overnight train.

After having breakfast and taking rest, you will have a four- hour drive to the World Heritage site of Halong Bay.  This beautiful natural wonder usually leaves strong impression on visitors by its emerald water, 1600 limestone islands and islets, and its breathtaking view. You will board a junk to explore the hidden beauty of Halong, and spend one night in the boat as well. Of course, there will be some activities for you to entertain yourself such as swimming, kayaking or rest on the deck.

Your trip will be more perfect if you can wake up early to witness the Bay when the sun rises. It would be a really impressive moment in your long trip. Then, remember to visit some limestone caves in which Surprises Cave  or Sung Sot Cave is highly recommended. As it name, the cave make visitors feel amazing when they find the narrow path in the cave can lead to a giant and spectacular grotto. The deeper you go, the more fun you have. The cave is created by Mother Nature with stalactites and a great number of rock in many interesting shapes such as flowers, dinosaurs. After that, you will come back to Hanoi, have meals and stay a night in hotel.

Apart from the Old Quarter, Hanoi has many other landmarks. Let’s start with Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Ba Dinh Square. It was erected between 1973 and 1975 to be the place for honoring President Ho Chi Minh who has led the country to independence and reunification. People usually come here to show their admiration to the national hero, so you have to make sure your clothes and other items are appropriate to the regulations.

One Pillar Pagoda, a historic Buddhist temple is also at the top of the list. As many stories are told, Emperor Ly Thai To had a dream about Goddess of Mercy seating on a lotus flower and handing him a male baby. After marring a peasant girl and has a son, the Emperor erected the pagoda in 1049 with the model of a lotus blossom on a single stone pillar. It’s one of the structures playing an important role in preserving Vietnam’ historic value.

Besides, Temple of Literature is another tourist spot  that you should not ignore.  It was built in 1070 to honor Confucius and now is for dedicating doctorates and scholars. Thus, many students comes to the altars in this temple to praying for good grades, especially, in entrance exam. It is also a picturesque place with five courtyards decorated with flowers and bonsai. Walking through the courtyards you can find many tombstones with names of doctors in courses from 1442 to 1779.

Then, the rest of day is at your leisure. You can rest at hotel or walking around crowed street, enjoy some traditional cuisine of Vietnam.

Your Vietnam tour will end in Hanoi to start a new adventure in Laos, the Land of million elephants. You will fly from airport in Hanoi to Luang Prabang. After a brief introduction, you will go to hotel for check in and take some rest, then, pay a visit to Wat Xieng Thong, a stunning temple in Luang Prabang. This beautiful temple was built in 1559 with an impressive sweeping three-tiered roof. It is an excellent example for a richly-ornamented temple in Luang Prabang, where you can see intricate gold patterns decorated on the  exterior and interior wall, and a colorful the tree of life mosaic on the back of the temple wall. Posted on the red background , mosaic refers to the legend of two hermits erecting the temple  next to  the tree of life. More details will be given when you come here.

Leaving Wat Xieng Thong, you will move to the next stop , Mount Phousi. Because it is a hill located in the centre of Luang Prabang, nothing’s better than climbing up to the top of the mountain in the afternoon to get the spectacular view of entire Luang Prabang in sunset. Along the staircase leading to the top, there are several stops to watch Buddha images, small caves and temples under the shadow of the tree where you can pray and make offerings. You will finish your tour in the late afternoon and come back to hotel have meal, and rest to get ready for the next day.

Rise early in the morning and you won’t miss the Alms Giving ceremony taking place on the tree’s in Luang Prabang. This tradition has great meaning to people in Luang Prabang since the main purpose of this spiritual ceremony is for local giving alms to the monk. You will see a queue of monk moving on the side of street and collect food for meals of day from the local. You also can get up early and take part in this offering activity to experience one side of Laos’s culture.

After having breakfast, you will be guide to visit Kuang Si Waterfall, one of tourist hot spots in Luang Prabang. This multi-tier waterfall welcomes you with several turquoise pools, the green wood, and a breathtaking view from the top of fall. If you don’t want to swim, you can go around the fall to find some interesting things the tropical rainforest offers.

The rest day you will come back to the town and ending the tour day by paying a visit to Royal Palace to contemplate the mix of French and traditional Laos architectural features. The Royal Palace once was the home of Laos Royal Family, but now it is known as the Royal Palace Museum, where you can learn about history of Luang Prabang, see a lot of things such as a golden throne, statues of the last Laotian Kings and images about the daily life of population in Luang Prabang.  After that, you will come back to hotel and stay overnight there.

Luang Prabang is located in the intersection of the Mekong River and Nam Khan (Nam means river in Laos), thus, it would be a pity if you don’t have a boat tour coming to Luang Prabang. A tour to explore the attraction of Pak Ou Caves and its surrounding villages is highly recommended. Two caves of Pak Ou caves can be found on a side of a cliff not far from the main town. When reaching these caves you can see around 4000 Buddha icons both new and old ones in different shape and size facing to the river. Pak Ou caves once were only known the place for local to pray, but now it is also considered as tourist attraction thanks to its special positions, the  beauty which Mother Nature give them, and its particular Buddha statutes. Don’t forget stop at weaving village before coming back to hotel, where you take a glimpse at weaving skill of the local. Almost process of making textiles are done by hand and the traditional looms, thus, observing each stages is also super interesting.
